Former GRIP INC. Bassist Resurfaces In THE ALLKNOWING

January 17, 2006

Former GRIP INC./HEATHEN bassist Jason Vie Brooks has launched a brand-new Ohio-based project called THE ALLKNOWING. Joining Jason in the new group are vocalist Billy Cox, drummer Sean Harford and guitarist John Lynn.

Commented Vie Brooks: "After I left GRIP INC. I felt like a sitting duck reading all of the untrue things Dave [Lombardo, GRIP INC./SLAYER drummer] would say about me in the press. I'm just glad the industry people knew the truth of my leaving even if the public didn't. I really don't care anymore. It's been long enough. All I care about is THE ALLKNOWING."

Immediately following his departure from GRIP INC., Jason decided to take a break. "At that point of my dealings with the business, I had learned a lot," he said. 'The biggest was money makes people stupid and how to treat people (like when I was in HEATHEN) and how not to treat people (GRIP INC.)." Not happy with the idea of becoming a hired hand, Jason set out to form his own thing. "I really wanted to be a part of something that I would have equal say in, not another dictatorship."

With regards to THE ALLKNOWING's musical approach, Jason said, "We just write what we want to hear. No trend shit, just us. True to heart. We feel if it's something we wouldn't buy, why would anyone else? We want to be a band that the crowd is truly excited to see. We feel lately that's been lost in music; people have been more into gimmicks and sideshows rather than the music."

Four of THE ALLKNOWING's recently recorded demo tracks — "So Complicated", "Out", "Truth Be Known" and "Be A Man" — can be downloaded at LocalMetal.com. The group's newly launched web site can be accessed at www.theallknowing.net.
